Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to the official blog for The Gossamer Gallery, a tiny art gallery located inside of a dollhouse near Milwaukee, WI. This blog, as well as the dollhouse gallery, email account, and Instagram page are all run by me, Denise, AKA Art of Dash. I'm an elementary school art teacher with a passion for all types of art. The photo above is the mini me that I created specifically for Gossamer Gallery.
I've been a creator my whole life, and somewhere along the way, I started to make tiny art. The tinier, the better. I wanted to challenge myself to see how much I could fit into the smallest size canvas as possible.
The idea of building a dollhouse turned art gallery was influenced by a new friend that I connected with via Instagram, Holly Buchholz. Holly and her husband, Dan, run Tag and TiniER, a dollhouse turned art gallery that their children outgrew from childhood. They hosted me for a solo tiny art show, and one chat filled afternoon later (and with a lot of support and guidance from Holly) the idea to create my own gallery was born.
At first, I wasn't even sure that people would be interested in the idea of a dollhouse art gallery, but shortly after I started the GG Instagram page, word spread and suddenly people were following along and cheering me on. I'm still in the works on making sure that everything is going smoothly, but the amount of support that I've gotten from fellow artists has been wonderful.
I'm currently in the process of finding a studio space in the hopes of inviting artists to come and "tour" the gallery. Stay tuned for that.
Follow along on Instagram as well. https://www.instagram.com/gossamer_gallery/
