How to submit a proposal for a solo show

 Do you want to be featured in your own tiny art show? Here's how to apply:


1. Please send an email to  thegossamergallery@gmail.com. In the subject line, write "show proposal".

2. If this will be a solo, or group show, and include the names and social media/website links and email/contact info for all interested people. 

3. The show title, and include an artist's statement(s) if you have one.

4. The approximate number and sizes of works for the show, medium (photography, sculpture, drawings, etc.) and if the artworks will be for sale. If the art is for sale, please indicate the best way for potential buyers to contact you. 

5. Please include 3-5 photo examples of the work to be shown, as well as any specific instructions for how the art should be displayed, or if you're giving Gossamer Gallery the right to choose how to display your work. 

If you're selected for a show, the gallery will be in contact to set up the dates the show will run, as well as any additional information that you want put on the gallery Instagram account. All proposals will be kept on file for possible future shows.

In person meet ups are possible for local to the Milwaukee area artists, but mailed submissions will be accepted as long as the artist covers all shipping costs to and from the gallery. 


Disclaimer: This is just a fun project that I've decided to embark on, and I'm only one person running this whole thing. I don't take commission if your work sells, and I don't charge any fees for entering a show. Gossamer Gallery (aka me, Denise) will not be held liable for any damage to artworks in transit via postal service, etc. I always suggest purchasing insurance for your work. 

  Please be kind, and remember that I have a full time job, a family, my own art that I create, and just a regular life that keeps me busy. I appreciate your patience and your interest in Gossamer Gallery.

  Hello, and welcome to the official blog for The Gossamer Gallery, a tiny art gallery located inside of a dollhouse near Milwaukee, WI. One Hundred and Some Hoopla!

 Today was a day of celebrations. I attended the opening reception of the WVA "From Where I Sit" show at Lakeland University in Plymouth, WI tonight, where Gossamer Gallery made it's official public debut. It was an evening of incredible art and many heartfelt conversations. It's always a joy to have the opportunity to come together with other artists and discuss our process.  I also got to speak with students who attend Lakeland University, where GG was a big hit! I invited students and other artists to apply for shows in the gallery, and discussed the behind the scenes of building the gallery, the sneaky features (like how the staircase to the artist studio folds up to hide in the ceiling for do not disturb work time).  One excellent feature of the gallery tags for the art in this show is a space where we got to put a QR code for our work.
